Good idea Josh, but I thought (in bed the other night - how crazed is that?) that maybe once the opposing ship is conquered we could possibly have animation and sounds of Pirates swinging to the defeated ship to collect treasure. Before the animation gets too complicated a big 'Treasure Log' in old paper appears on the screen showing what treasure was collected from that ship. ie: The Chinese Junk surrundered 150 gold and a basket of fish - or something like that.
That way you could tally up gold and food and booze to perhaps bury on an island.
So, simialr idea just back to front.
We all need to meet up and have a chin wag and make some decisions.
Josh, crack that whip! ;-)

like the pirate swinging animation idea.
ReplyDeletewas thinking about 'old paper' too.. u think we should actually make the map (with burnt edges etc) and scan, or have a flash-drawn semi-3d map?
and with the story lets stick with andrews idea.. as long as we are able to give the game some kind of narrative within the intro.
ReplyDeletethere has to be some kind of goal expressed in the intro/story - something that drives the narrative, 'save the princess/damsel in distress' or something more appropriate. otherwise whats the point? our pirate might aswell just stay at home.
dunno if its that important really, what do u think damon?
and everyone else obviously.. just thinking of damon coz he's trying to draw stuff
ReplyDeletedrawing a map wouldn't be to taxing i think and then to slightly animated it would be easy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with andrew and josh about the narrative.
been trying to draw tonight but today doesn't seem to be going well, must be a off day.
Coolio! Sounds great to me!
